Raymond Maurice "Ray" Voissement Jr.

Raymond Maurice "Ray" Voissement Jr., a former route man for Browns-Velvet Dairy and Chalmette Laundry, died Tuesday of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma at his home. He was 56. Mr. Voissement was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past three years. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and served with the 36th and the 69th engineering companies. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Survivors include two sons, Rodney M. and Thomas C. "Tommy" Voissement; his mother, Norma Odom Voissement; a sister, Valerie V. Parker; and a grandchild. A funeral will be held today at 2:45 p.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. Visitation will begin at 1:45 p.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery No. 1, Calvary Mausoleum.
