Lewis Albert Walker, Jr.

Lewis Albert Walker, Jr. of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away on October 9, 2011 after a short but hard fought battle with cancer. Lew was a long-time resident of Montgomery County, Maryland. He was born at Washington Hospital Center to the late Lewis Albert, Sr. and Thelma Grasse Walker on November 21, 1941. He is survived by Sandra Smith; his daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Kevin Lucia and Kristen and Rodney Kahn; his grandchildren, Andrew and Jason Lucia and Amanda and Dylan Shulman; his brother and sister-in-law, Charles M. (Mick) and Karen Walker and nieces, Dawn Riesett, Victoria Walker and Christine Hess.
Lew graduated from Mackin High School in Washington ,DC. He served as a Specialist Five, 20th Engineer Brigade, U.S. Army
from 1967 to 1970. He was highly decorated and received the Bronze Star in April of 1969. He was a master electrician and proud member of IBEW Local 26 for over 40 years. Lewis retired to Florida and was a car enthusiast who loved his Corvettes as well as riding his Harley Davidson along the beach. His wish was to remain at the beach along the A-1-A forever.
Lew's large, unique personality will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Silver Spring Memorial Post 2562, 11316 Fern Street, Wheaton, Maryland 20902 on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
