Richard J. Rstom

 

 

Richard J. Rstom, 56, of 1063 Eisenhower Rd., Hiawatha, died after a prolonged battle with cancer on Thursday, August 11, 2005, at his home surrounded by his family. Services at 10:30 AM Monday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Father Gerald Condon will officiate. Burial with military honors in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Sunday and at the chapel after 10 AM on Monday.
Survivors include his two daughters, Kimberly and Kristina, his granddaughter Dannika, his parents George and Jeanette Rstom, and a brother Ronald, all of Cedar Rapids. Also survived by his sister Sharon Turner of Tampa, Florida, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Rory, and grandparents Naiff and Frances Rstom, and Edgar and Mamie Rorah. 
Richard was born March 28, 1949 in Cedar Rapids, to George and Jeanette Rorah Rstom. 
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War,
Charlie Company, 169th Engineer Battalion, 159th Group, 20th Engineer Brigade.
He was a truck driver for A B F Freight System Inc for twenty-two and a half years. Military honors by Hanford American Legion Post No 5.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Mercy, or to the charity of the donor's choice
